I have appreciated the comments given in my previous posts, this was taken in the days last light and darker than I wanted but I like the image.

The Canada's are tough to get head and eye detail on, especially in this faint a light. I would chalk this one up to experience. Next time try about +1.5 EV and ISO 1000. The noise from high ISO is easier to deal with than the noise from artificially adjusting the shadows for detail. I would also learn to shoot RAW, if you aren't doing it already.

Hi Joel:
I'm afraid without a bit more detail showing in the head, this just doesn't work for me. Th reflection is nice, but not enough to carry the image.

Just too dark Joel. Sometimes the light just won't allow for the shot we want to capture. When shooting birds I almost always will sacrifice DOF for more light or shutter speed. Here f/9 could have been opened up quite a bit to say f/5.6 to get the light you needed for this shot.
