This Pink-eared Duck was in a claypan between two red sand dunes in outback NSW. The sun is just rising.

What a very cool duck Rob, I can't remember ever seeing this species..
Love the birds distinctive bill, and its colors/markings. Great POV, details, and exposure also. I especially like FG color and birds reflection there..
Only suggestion would be a little more brush work BG, in the area above the birds rear.
Well done!:toast:

Now, that is a bill! Beautiful bird, Rob, well and correctly depicted. The turn, the catch light, the detail and the angle are all good!

It looks like an incomplete clone at about 1 o'clock above the back of the bird. :toast:

Very interesting looking bird Rob. Love the foreground. It may be my eyes but it appears that the focus is sharper on the tip of the bill and the striped feathers at the front than it is on the head and eye. I guess DoF is shallow when you're using 700mm.
Terrifc overall though.

A super cool duck and setting Rob. I too see the clone work above the bird's tail. Fix that up and you have a real stunner.

Yet another Australian marvel. Very cool. I do love that golden tone in the reflection, though I'm not as fond of the way the dark top divides this image. Regardless, you nailed the bird as always, Rob.
