April 17, 2013 Huntington Beach Central Library, Huntington Beach, California. There is a garden area in the park that attracts hundreds of hummingbirds, and there are always a bunch of other photographers there getting picts as well. This was shot late in the day when the light was fairly low.

D800 Nikkor 600mm 1/1250 f/8 ISO400 Better Beamer flash RAW White Balance Auto Tripod with Wimberly Gimbal Processed and cropped in Lightroom, CS6 and NIK.

Great shot Patrick ! I do like the composition as well as the colors. Great sharpness, and the bird's chest gives the impression that it's taking quite some effort to performing this trick. Well done ! A shot one can look at for a long time ! Hans :toast:

Patrick that's beautiful. There have been a few hummingbird shots posted recently but his one is by far my favourite. The colours are really vivid with the markings on the bird showinbg very well. Gorgeous. :toast:

Excellent work Patrick, love the detail in both bird and flower, your best effort I've seen so far with the hummers. :toast:

Wonderful hummer shot with good color and a wonderful pose with the wings back. That must be quite a sight to see so many hummers in one place.
