Morning Solitude
by Rick Andrews
As a photographer I sometimes like to think I’ve evolved to the point where I’m no longer content acquiring (even) more catalog shots, so I’m, always looking for ways in which to kick my photographic skills up another notch or two. As an amateur I have the freedom to shoot what I like, when I like, and I enjoy the creative opportunities that come with that.
I like realism in wildlife photography but I also appreciate wildlife art, so perhaps it’s natural for me to begin exploring ways of combining the two while still retaining the realism of the original shot.
Sometimes I also find myself drawn to dramatic high contrast images, which I understand to some may appear a stop or two underexposed, but I don’t believe it’s always necessary to show every detail. That’s why this image is a little different from some of my previous ones, and why I’d love to hear your comments, critique and feedback.
Cheers
Rick
