Here's another shot of a gator - B&W again. The reason I'm not posting a color version is well, there was no color to begin with. Skies were flat and grey - water was grey, gator was black/grey. I may post one in the future, but I like this look better than the B&W for now.

Nikon D7100 300mm f4 HH
f/6.3
1/500s
ISO 800

Full Frame, B&W conversion, adjustments to create a bit of a high-key effect, sharpened in LR4 and CS5

I really like the textural feel of this image in B&W. Very nice.

Intereting effect Luke, especially the area between the croc's eyes and snout; water and skin seem to merge.

Luke, Nice work on this one, even more powerful than your previous posting. The composition really makes the eyes pop. Nice DOF. I still plan to stay out of swamps!

Very creative under circumstances that make even capturing ordinary images difficult. Moving the subject to the right and placing your identity in the lower left might fill the right side void but that doesn't take into account how the gator's neck appeared.

Luke, I like this just fine, but I prefer the additional space in the earlier posting of the same subject. Again I like the texture of the eye region, but in this edition it feels like one needs some of the snout in better focus too.
