This fellow was quite curious about the tripod and camera and came so close that I couldn't focus any more, I was surprised and got caught with my TC attached. Shot at Anticosti Island Qc where Red and Silver foxes crossbreed.

Taken at 1/40s, f/8,ISO 640, 300mm + TC 1.7x on D3X.

A nice image capture under difficult circumstances. I usually get caught with my TC on while photographing egrets or herons in flight. Suddenly they overfill the entire frame of my D3s. Not much you can do but hope the subject is in focus. Just great eyes.

Really nice capture, even with the difficulties. Outstanding eyes. Very interesting animal with those silver highlights.

Bonjour,
nice capture even with the TC. I would like to go to Anticosti Island to photograph Deers and Foxes.

I'm a fellow photographer from "La belle Province"

Salut Steeve,

A summer visit to Anticosti is a great trip for nature lovers, plenty of deer and foxes and many shorebirds and raptors. I hope your wish comes true.

Cool encounter. I would have wanted to keep the frame on the right from clipping the main subject. If this is a raw capture, you might want to see if you can pull a little more detail out of the dark shadow areas in post processing.

Cropping right is not possible but detailing shadows is feasible as shown. Thanks for your comment.

Nice capture and a very cool subject. The lighter repost seems better to me. You might want to also clone out the dirty sensor speck in the bg on the upper right. Well done.
