...lurks in the heart of a bored Cairn. This is Yogi, actually a very sweet pup, but he's a little bored waiting for me to play ball with him. Any critiques would be greatly appreciated.

You actually gave us a good sense of the dog's personality here, and ultimately that's the goal of a good portrait.

LOL! Marvelous image - and aptly titled. Great perspective, nice detail, and the B&W processing is perfect.
Congrats on the WP!

LOL!! As has been noted, when I first looked at this image, I got a sense of what I subsequently found confirmed by your title; Seriously, my first thought was that this might be a great poster for some horror movie :)

I liked Kent and Sandy's comments which I think may come from, first of all, the ominous catchlights in Yogi's eyes, the one on our left, Yogi's right being especially ominous, I think, and then the way the lines of wood grain in the floor tie into the flow of hair in Yogi's face.

But I read your explanation of how Yogi was patiently waiting for you to finish your photography so he could do something fun with you, and it was then I knew all of my initial perceptions were figments of my imagination; it was then I knew that Yogi, like all dogs, was good, and had been good all along.

Marvelous! Pet portraits aren't as easy as one might think. This is wildly successful. Way to go! And congrats on the EP.

I like the "half-cocked" look of tihs dog - the detail is rendered beautifully in the B&W
