New Kid

Greater Roadrunner.

This is one of two young that fledged here about a month ago. Probably about 10 weeks old in this photo taken today. The parents are almost finished with another brood that should also fledge soon. (They built 2 nests!) While not captive, these birds hang around my yard throughout the day and will sit for the camera.

A beautiful capture Charlie. Only slight niggle is the background behind the head doesn't do justice to that lovely crest.

Wonderful pose and they certainly can have some interesting colors. You must have a lot of lizards in your yard. Excellent detail in the larger image.
