Bill,
In my limited experience Owls are always difficult, rarely in the open or in good light. Would it be possible to selectively lighten the eyes?

Yes Ken I was lucky to capture this one in the open. They are typically in mature forests and usually behind branches or leaves making it difficult to get a good shot. Not being able to use a flash, I used the highlight slider in LR4 as fill light. I will try and selectively lighten the eyes later today when I get home from work. Thanks Bill

These birds seem to put on sunglasses in the bright light. I wonder if they have a light filtering membrane to protect their sensitive eyes from bright light? A nice capture Bill.

A nice look at this owl and its habitat Bill. Agree with others. I a bit more light in the eyes would help this image.

Looks great Bill, I especially like how you've pulled this comp from the scene.
I suppose a bit more light in the eyes would improve, but very nice as posted

Nice! Fine detail and a good look at the ability to camoflage, with the tree trunk behind him/her.
The brightneas/contrast and/or levels sliders (applied selectively) should help the eyes.
I find the greens a bit bright and distracting - perhaps darkening them a bit would pull the viewer's eyes back to this great bird.
