Fishing Shed and Reflections
Krystad, Lofoten, Norway

Waiting for sunset, the water and reflection looked like liquid metal. Taken on a Transient Light Workshop.

Canon 5DM2
Canon 24-0 f/2.8L at 70mm
ISO100 1.3sec f/16

Thanks for having a look.

This is wonderful. I'll limit my comments to a few of the many high points for me. While this would have been a gorgeous scene without the fishing shed, it is the fishing shed that provides the essence of its meaning; that being the multidimensional contrast between man and nature -- form, color, size, duration, etc. I've been in the Canadian Rockies many times, and I have felt like that fishing shack would if it could, yet in that corner it provides a link, an entry into the image for us, the viewers, from which I think we can convey that feeling of awe in the presence of something much greater than we are.

The lines of the mountains and their reflection and the shore lead powerfully to an unknown place in the pass between the mountains, off in the distance somewhere.

Not sure how you managed to get the lighting in the lower right as it is since the major light source seems to be coming from the distance behind the mountains, but however you did it, I think the luminosity there is essential in bringing the fishing shack and grasses etc in that corner to the immediate attention of the viewer, and the red colors help in that as well.

I really like this a lot!

Stunning Eva. Reddish yellow against cyan blue a great colour combination and a superb shot. John's right without the hut in it there is a lot less context to the picture. This one screams Norway to me. I think I would back off on the cyan just a wee bit more as the walls of the house definitely display a slightly stronger cast than I would expect.

Boy, would I like to visit this place! Thanks for bringing me there. Perfectly place reflection Looks like it could be autumn there, if they have an autumn? Some new snow on the them thar peaks. There seems to be an area near the shed that looks darker than similar areas nearby, so I'm wondering if the un-evenness is the result of post processing or that's the way it was? I'm leaning toward darkening the other FG areas slightly to match as it would seem more consistent with the lighting at that time of day.
