First Star I See Tonight

Can you find it? Just getting dark enough to see Jupiter. Shot a few yards from my tent on an Adirondack Island last weekend.

I had to find substitutes for sunset shots on a three-day canoe/camping trip last weekend because there were no clouds (a rare weekend in this part of the country). I thought these silhouettes worked well with the post-sunset glow.

I found it.......
Extremely dark otherwise, but the silhouettes frame the main point or subject of Jupiter well. Seeing the bit of land here at the base of the image I assume this was a dry land shot then?

Nice mood in this one Wayne. I could see this type of image working very well with a crescent moon in the sky.

As soon as I clicked on this to open it, my mind said Wayne Jones. Just seemed like your style. Really like the sky and of cocurse the first star (even if it's a planet). The silhouetted trees and mountains just add to the mood on this. Nicely done.

This is quite lovely, Wayne. I like how you filled out the composition with a complex but welcoming collection of silhouettes. When it comes time to print, I think you'll find it'll work best if you lighten it a bit overall, to fill out the histogram more.

Hey, there is a star....only took me two looks. This is truly yummy. I would love to have this view be this the last thing I saw from my sleeping bag as I closed my eyes for the night. Very well seen!

Definitely has that Adirondack feel to it, your composition works extremely well, Wayne. I really like how the tree frames the sky and the nice diagonals leading the eye into and up through the frame.

This is great! I don't mind a lot of black as long as the silhouettes work, and they definitely work in this case! Makes me really wanna go out and camp...

Effective use of the dead space. The warm glow in just the right place. The horizon seems a little too central. Cropping a little off the bottom helps emphasize the star a little more for me.
