The lighting and exposure bring out the texture and shape of the petals and the refraction in the beads of water. Sharpness is good and the bokeh is gorgeous. I also like the diagonal branch coming in from the lower right corner, its reddish-brown contrast with the green bokeh, and the way you did the framing so that the branch actually contacts the bottom edge through the "translucent" frame, a strong visual anchor and leading line.

Just beautiful, Ian. Great comp with a nice blurred background, good handling of the whites, fine details, beautiful subject, and, of course, raindrops. This has it all to make a fine image. Well done!

I have a magnolia tree in my front yard that has passed blooming, but I recognize the petals and furry buds that look similar to pussy willows. Nicely composed; like the extra green to the left, putting it slightly off-center. Sharpness shows off the gracefulness of this flower and all it's details. Great background too.

beautifully soft with just enough detail, I like the soft light and the smooth background.

The flower is graceful. The background does not intrude. The fuzzy sepals are cool. Depth of field is the way I like it. Your little frame is interesting. Good job.

Very nice!
Your border technique is interesting too. I checked out your gallery and see that you vary the technique for different images. It usually works well to enhance the composition. But your variation with this image seems to be a little less effective, I think because of the stem still being so in focus in the border area.

Terrific details, especially the raindrops, "fur" on the sepals(?) and a wonderfully soft spring green background. I'm fascinated with your placement, which has me wondering what it would look like with the flower to the left and the space on the right....food for thought and experimentation.
