Now I want to start a series of images from my recent trip to Switzerland last week. This one is taken at dusk near Lauterbrunnen, Berner Oberland.
Please feel free to take a look also at the repost.

Very nice Peter, I think you nailed the shutter speed as the many branches of this beautiful waterfall are all very detailed. I also like the contrast between evergreen trees and the brown grasses, which is a typical colour in this period.
Last week I was leading a private workshop in the western Alps and I brought my customer to one of the many valleys we have here in my area, Val Chiusella in Piedmont. This valley lies at a relatively low altitude ( from 1000 to 1500 meters) but it gathers all the waters from many, huge snow fields and a few glaciers which are all at the top of the surrounding peaks, most of them 3000+ meters tall. Well, it was - and still is for a few days - full snow-melting season here and we had waterfalls like the one you captured almost every 50 meters or so along our trail, it was simply fantastic!
Cheers,
Paolo

Hi Peter, I agree with Paolo and think you nailed the shutter speed on this. This has a wonderful and natural beauty about it. Nice work on your comp framing these falls perfectly imo. I bet the sounds were great going along with this fantastic view.

This is a wonderful composition and an excellently captured scene overall, Peter. I too agree about the selected shutter speed and ending results here.
I do think I would play around with some stronger contrast and or saturation a bit on this one. When you've got the comp nailed down it makes it easier to play around with a variety of enhancement attempts in PS. Regardless, a very fine image.

Graceful line of water fall Peter. I like this a lot. I agree with Paul on the contrast though.

The line of water makes for a beautiful comp, would concur on the sat and contrast.

I agree about the shutter speed being just right, it shows nice flow but includes lots of details especially in the bottom section. I also like textural contrast between the trees and all of the lines and colors (grass?) in the rock faces. What a neat place, very well shown.

Thanks for your thoughts and comments. I did a rework based on the suggestions regarding contrast and saturation. Taking the shot I actually found a scene with rather low contrast at dusk, also due to a slight haze arising from the falls. But I think this second version might indeed work better for web presentation.

Hey peter, Nice work on your repost. I liked the original but I think you did just the right amount of contrast and saturation adjustment without getting carried away to make this web version even nicer. The lower part of the falls looks especially nice to me in your rework. It works even better for me now! Cheers, Nick
