Woodland Phlox

This shade-loving Phlox is a great groundcover for many of my flower beds even when not blooming. When blooming, these flowers beautifully carpet large areas. I worked at isolating this one but you can see hints of color from other nearby flowers.

Canon EOS 60D. 90mm macro lens. F/2.8 for 1/125 sec. ISO 160. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

Lovely complementary colors. Perfect DOF, a strong, simple picture.

Nice shot! The center color and the tips of the unopened buds hold my interest. What a clean flawless flower. Good frame placement and blurred b/g working well.

Excellent, Carolyn. I like the dof and the two unopened flowers that accompany the main subject.
