Common Beauty

House Finch juvenile in an upward glance. I've observed the Yellow & Wilson's Warbler this week, but could not reel em' in close enough.
So I try to find beauty in even the 'common' things, and as as it should be..
F/9, 1/500th, ISO 640, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + Kenko 2x ext.
Natural light around 5:30pm and overcast.

A sweet looking bird, and I really like the skyward gaze. Great detail. A solid effort!

There is still a lot of beauty in the common things. I love the upward glance of this Common Beauty. Good job Howard. :toast:

A lovely shot of this youngster, Howard. House Finches have fledged (well, 99% fledged) kids already in Texas? Our songbirds are still arriving... I agree that there is real beauty in common birds, but I think you have to work harder to capture it, to make viewers see and appreciate that beauty. You've done so here.

I have a lot of these birds at certain times of the year and really like observing the juveniles. Right now they are taking over my feeders. The little top knot of feathers is pretty neat. Nice shot!

I agree that there is beauty to be found in "common" things. I like the pose, color, detail, lighting, bg, and the fluffy little feathers on the top of the head.

Very nice, Howard. Haven't seen much in the way of young around here yet, but it won't be long. I love the unruly tuft on the head.

Sweet looking bird against a smooth BG. The bird looks so soft and yet the details are so sharp. Very nicely done.

The wistful, upward look and the punk hairdo really bring this common bird up! Nice capture. Sharon
