Cuckoo
My mother always turned her money over when she heard the first cuckoo.
Hasn't done me any good!
This was a fluke from a hide set up on a redstart !

Very nice, John. The slightly open bill and slightly extended wings, with the forward lean, imply action.

I don't recognize the aphorism/superstition. I'll have to look into it.

I myself have never heard that one. But then again I don't think we have cuckoo's in Northern Ontario Canada. Love the detail in this image as well as the pose.
