This fellow was hunting for ants, finally got some and started preening with one.

Lotta colors in the bird and I like the low angle - but in my eyes the sticks at the back of the bird are a distraction --

A good look at this handsome fellow, nice and sharp. Love the low POV. Image seems just a bit dark, you might open up the exposure which would also bring out a little more detail in the blacks. Nice image

Well processed, Claude. Good detail on a bird virtually in the clear, and nice, soft light. The OOF sticks behind the tail don't bother me, but they would be easy to clone out if you wanted to do so.

I'm ok with this as presented. If you lighten it don't go very far.

Hi Claude, good, low POV creating an nice eye level. Personally the stick in the BKG need to go, too distracting. I would also selectively lighten the blacks in the chest, throat and eye, may need varying amounts. You could also look to darkening the BKG, easily controlled in RAW, but would give more separation and pop to your subject.

Good angle on an interesting bird Claude. Lots of detail and the colours look great. I Like the low viewpoint and the BG is pretty neutral. The 2 sticks at the back don't distract too much so whether or not to clone them is not worth sweating over.

I too like the angle. I might want to try to clone out the two upright twigs at the rear of the bird. To me anyway they seem to draw my eye to them.

On repost...the bird is very nice. That oof twig behind the head is unfortunate. Excellent pov. Sharon

The low point of view makes the shot; especially in the repost. Fine work. :toast:

Great bird, Claude.... as usual. Sometimes you get them on the ground. For the most part I like a lighter background, but he probably wouldn't move when you asked him to. :toast:
