I went outside today to work in my gardens. . .but then saw this little wildflower glowing in the sunshine on the creek bank. So I took pictures instead.

Canon EOS 60D. 180mm macro lens. F/3.5 for 1/200 sec. ISO 100. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

Carolyn: Good choice of activities! I like seeing the various stages of the flowers from buds to spent. Most excellent DOF management. >=))>

Excellent, Carolyn. I really like the dof. When I first opened it the bottom cluster of blossoms was hidden and I kind of like it better that way-you might want to play with a square crop just to see how it looks to you.

Very nicely composed, Carolyn. Excellent positioning of the camera to get the blooms in focus while using an open aperture for a pleasing DOF. Good work.

The little beauties are tough to photograph and you've done an excellent job here. The sharpness and distribution of the blooms is great against a background that shows the bright greens of spring nicely.

Ha-ha, any excuse to pick up the camera, wildflowers in great light would surely be one of them! Lovely detail in the flowers contrast well with the bg to show them off.
