Another False Kiva

I shot this during the RMNP Spring Fling a couple weekends ago. I had never been to False Kiva - it was amazing!

On our way down, we passed a French photog who told us "Zee light is done." We all chuckled and kept pressing on. The light was nice when we arrived in the alcove, then disappeared for a bit, but right before sunset - wowie! Shutters were clicking furiously, which apparently had annoyed a prior visitor who commented on the register located in a box in the alcove that all the clicking shutters were distracting or something along those lines. Again, we all chuckled -and kept on shooting!

Angela: Wonderful sky and a fine classic comp. Glad you didn't listen to the naysayers. >=))>

Great light and the clouds really add interest to the scene. An icon for sure, but a fine image is a fine image no matter how many times it has been shot.

Nicely done, the stormy sky provides some great contrast to the sandstone

Very different light conditions than we typically see from this place. I like this a lot Angela. The storm light and ominous sky are wonderful.

Sweet image. I've never been there. I'd have been interested to see if there was a good shot with the rock ring offset a bit - but not at the expense of any of the other fine qualities of the image.
I particularly enjoyed your story of the shoot.
