Thunderstorm at night

I followed this storm across central Barton County in Kansas on 5/27/13, until it finally died near Cheyenne Bottoms. It was an isolated cell, that had produced beautiful pastel colors at sunset, then started firing constant cloud to cloud lightning. 7D, ISO 1600, f/2.8, 20 sec, 17mm full frame.

Nice one, Rob, looks supercellular although im kind of surprised by the lack of lightning in the 20s exposure, at those settings it would have been a blown out mess with any serious lightning--you need to get closer, man  I like the stars, a nice contrast to the storm. :wavey:

Thanks Stan. I had followed this storm for several miles, and did get closer at times. This was in the last minutes of activity before it suddenly went dark. On radar, it was just a little isolated blip. Take a look at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.573250416031166.1073741836.528556817167193&type=1&l=8f801b4311 for some earlier captures in the storm when I was closer. Virtually all of the lightning was cloud to cloud.
