A very strange place this is indeed. Thanks to the members who directed me to this special place and well worth a visit.

Rough and rugged looking country! I think you captured the look very well. Love the fg tree!! It must be ancient and is a real survivor.

Wow, I've never seen anything that big alive there before, I think you just photographed the Bisti National Forest! Glad you were able to make it and look forward to seeing more from your trip.

That tree says so much about the badlands and I like your prominent placement of it I would have liked it If you could have been there for better light. But still a nice image. Chet

U think you presented the ruggedness of the area very well and the tree gives a good point of focus. The light is a bit harsh.

That FG tree speaks volumes about it's rugged surroundings, Rick. Very nicely done.

Rick,
This image sure captures and portrays the desolate, almost inhospitable landscape very well. And as others have mentioned, the little juniper is excellent for the anchor, but also giving this strange landscape some life. Sure, the light isn't favorable, but you've taken that and made up for it with your comp.

An excellent comp, Rick. The large version is very effective in translating the open space.
