Chilo Gorge and Elephant

This image was taken in the wildest park in Southern Africa, Gonarezhou in Zimbabwe, the Elephant is crossing in front of probably one of the most scenic locations on Africa, the cliffs of Chilo Gorge, around 4 years ago.
Yesterday I was asked by the new owners of Chilo Lodge ( a marvelous place see my recent post in the Landscape Gallery), if he could use this image in an advert, I of course said yes

Looks like a fabulous place Ken. I like the image a lot although on my monitor it seems to be lacking a bit in overall sharpness. Pretty unforgiving light too but definitley a place to add to my list of wannasee's

Hello Ken

beautiful capture with that bg. leg lift and tail swing implies some action here, well done!

The forward motion of the elephant works nicely with the sweeping horizontal cliffs in the background. Very fortunate to have the elephant also completely in the open. I'm sure this will make an enticing advertisement for the Lodge...hopefully lucrative for thee photographer too.

Excellent image, Ken. I can see why they would want to use it. I would experiment a little with contrast and saturation of the gorge behind this elephant. I think you will be able to make it a little more "punchy" without crossing the line to unnatural.
