Folks

Here is one from today. We had some sun in the evening, and the weaver ant colony was active. As I would prefer the soft backlight on such subjects I placed myself so as to take the back light in the grove. Had some nice filtered backlight through the trees for the BG. Following the colony, I was able to single out this one which for seemed to be dancing for some reason

7D, 70-200 with extn 12, 20 and 36mm

Thanks NPN for your support

Cool shot. Do you have any specific questions or concerns? Or are you primarily sharing this image "as is", in perfect happiness with it?

Before I reply, I'd like to know what you are looking for in posting it.

Exceptional image, Balan. Amazing that you got this magnification, the dancing pose, the detail, and the backlighting making the ant practically translucent. Remarkable image. :toast: :jump:

Beautiful shot, appears to be praising the sun.

You've taken an ordinary insect and made an extraordinary image, Balan! His pose is great. . .he does look like he is dancing. He also looks like he is looking toward the "sun" in the left top corner. That light provides some terrific backlighting of the ant too. Great comp with the angled surface and placement of the ant in relation to the light, plus a fine combo of colors. Well done!

Amazing image. Ants are difficult subjects, but you make it look so easy. Perfect image.
