Thunderheads clearing to the east when the sun broke out in the west just before it went down. The light just kept getting better and more spectacular as the sun went below the horizon. This was shot about 1/2 hour ago.

Canon 40d
Sigma 17-70
Aperture Priority
Shutter 0.6 secs
Aperture f18
ISO 100
17mm
Tripod
Slight temparture and white point correction in Lightroom

Wow...thunderlicious...I might even try some kind of crop with only the amazing sky in it...the foreground doesn't really add anything because its too busy and dark...but man those clouds... :toast:

Richard,

The clouds are awesome, but adding some "clarity" would enhance them some more. I don't mind the rustic shed, but the yard light needs to be cloned out IMO. It's not visually appealing and it highlights the barrel distortion of the 17mm lens. There's also a small bright spot next to the shed that is a bit of a distraction. The whole image seems a bit underexposed to me.

You gotta love skies like this! Exposure looks good to me, maybe a tad more contrast (?). I like the fg, but could do w/o th lamp. Thanks for sharing! :wavey:
