Through the Rabbit Hole

Walking along, through a canyon so very far away, a slight bit of light caught my eye. It was gold and soft and beamed from a hole in the canyon wall. My head went in, my eyes went up, and off I went through the rabbit hole...

Comments would be much appreciated. I am not sure if it is too dark or not. I was going for mystery, but I may have just left too little detail.

This is a 12-image composite for focus blending and accurate exposure.

Now this is a unique slot canyon photo. I don't think I have ever seen one like it. Great job on the exposure, looks totally natural how I would expect to see it.

Colin, this is extraordinary! WOW! I have never seen anything like this, and I think the exposures are handled perfectly so long as they are viewed in the right environment. Fantastic stuff!

Sweet light and comp, Colin. You came away with a unique take from the often photographed slot canyons. I wouldn't change a thing.

Best viewed on this site so far. Very hypnotizing. If I may suggest, that crack on the right is just the slightest bit distracting, If you were open to cloning it out, it might make for more attention towards the center. Still good as is though.

Colin,

Outstanding - what a unique and fascinating find! Excellent work with the processing. The clouds up top are just icing on the cake. The processing, darkness is not an issue for me at all. There's enough detail in the darker areas and the transition from dark to light as you travel up the hole, is just wonderful.

Thanks for posting this one! Awesome.

Definitely a unique location Colin. I think you have nailed the exposure, the light looks spot on. It's a cracker.

Terrific capture, Colin! A unique and creative interpretation from this place. 'Development' is perfect, especially when viewed on a darker background as on your website. Not too dark at all! I don't see the crack that Peter refers to here, so I can't comment on that one.
Just an overall beautiful image, as is much of your work.

Very well done! I think your dark tones are perfect here. They provide a sense of mystery by not revealing just the right amount of detail.

Cool! Don't think Ive seen anything quite like this. I think the shadows are appropriately dark but just enough detail to keep it real.
