Peak spring greens surrounding a beautiful waterfall deep in the Columbia River Gorge of Oregon. Catching the greens at their peak is truly an amazing experience. The colors are absolutely incredible.

Nikon D800, Nikkor 16-35mm, polarizer
4 image blend for DOF and foliage motion, all at f/11 with varying ISOs and shutter speeds.

Thanks for taking a look and for any comments/suggestions you have.

Larger version is provided.

Truly beautiful.
I agree with Glenn that the composition works great. Don't know what compromises you had to make but a slightly higher view point to get a little more of the base of the fall maybe.

Scott,

This is just wonderful! I think the idea of the spring greens taking center stage over the water works beautifully here; yet the water still provides a means for the eye to meander through this lush environment.

Personal interpretation, the greens are pretty vibrant. Also, I think you did an excellent job with the comp and incorporating that very large triangular boulder. It could have been very heavy here, but the fact that there is detail visible there really helps with the overall balance. The large version is gorgeous. Should make an outstanding print.

The title is right on for your image Scott. The greens are brilliantly presented. I like your comp that included a larger setting for the waterfall. Wonderful job! :toast: Chet

Enchanting! Ferns on right side put a stamp of excellence on this. THe water is just large enough to create the lines for your eye to follow. Nice capture! Great job using the 4 images.

A beautiful image Scott. The greens are a tad intense, but I love your comp and the soft light.

The really lush foliage and the rich saturation really makes this a very inviting landscape indeed Scott. Your processing is excellent as the detail and DOF is spot on. Terrific photography.

Gary.

Hi Scott truly amazing :toast:

Do you use any special technique for blending for DOF ? Do you have any tutorial, etc. ?
