Mountain Laurel

I found this Mountain Laurel (Kalmia latifolia) still blooming a week ago during a walk in a local park. Most of the blooms were well past their peak, but I finally found one bush where the blooms were just starting to open and enough still air to get this 11 shot stack. (5D3, 100mm macro L, f/8, 1/60s, iso 800, tripod & polarizer)

Beautiful presentation. Good job of stacking and bringing out these subtle colors.

Excellent close up of the Mountain Laurel, Mark. The stacking really worked well here as all the blossoms are nicely rendered and sharp. I also like including the ferns to fill the frame. Excellent overall.

Mark - Wonderfully well composed and stacked  . Both third points occupied by blooms make for a strong composition and you throw in that Ferny Arch, it would be hard to beat.

I would not mind a touch more space on the left to avoid clipping of that arc-ing fern.

Sweet, sweet composition! The delicate looking flowers show so much detail. They are intricate and interesting. Sure glad you found some to show us and show them off so well.

Lovely.... artistic in composition... and with a vibrancy that is hard to achieve for any 'white' blossom. Well done.

Superb, Mark. I love the details in the flowers and their neat geometry and framing them in the fern leaves is a beautiful touch.
