Arches Desert Blooms

by Rick Turner

Wildflowers struggle for survival in the harsh elements of the Arches National Park. The Petrified Dunes and the La Sal Mountains provide a backdrop as the yellow and pink blooms reach towards the setting sun.

Nice capture of the landscape, Rick. Well balanced image. The scattered flowers are a great element as are the distant mountains.

Rick - Nice use of the Flowers as the foreground elements. Its amazing as to how these plants survive in such harsh conditions ! and still bloom. Nature is powerful.

It amazes me when visiting the arid southwest deserts how wildflowers can survive with little or no regular precipitation, but the Lord has created an amazing universe that only he knows the intricacies. :wavey:

God is great. :jump:

The flowers do soften and cheer a desolate and harsh environment.

Interesting environmental shot, Rick. Looks like you caught some nice blooms. I think I'd be tempted to pick one bloomor cluster and emphasize it a bit more in the frame to get some more impact.

You've certainly captured the harshness of this environment. I'd love to see a tighter comp on the cheerful yellow blooms if you had one. It's amazing how much beauty you can find just wandering around. Nice work
