This photo was taken just before the one I previously posted. I have tried to reduce the noise by reducing noise before making any other adjustments. Your comments on how well this worked out will be appreciated. I did take these photos from a car. The deer did not seem concerned until another car went by.

Canon T3i
1/160 @ F-5, ISO 800
Canon EF-70-300 IS USM @ 225mm.

Hi John. The noise is quite well controlled in this photo and an improvement over the previous. The fine detail on the deer has suffered a little from the noise reduction I think, assuming here that you reduced noise on everything? I do prefer the vertical format of the previous photo of this setting, I find the hind end of the deer poking out behind the tree unusual; perhaps if that dominant tree were a bit further to the left it would change my feelings. This is a beautiful forest setting and hopefully the deer will continue to cooperate and you can get back to pursue a few more compositions with them. Thanks for positing.

Thanks for your comments Gary. I have attached a vertical composition, I do like it better than the horizontal.

I think your repost works better compositionally too John. But, like Gary mentioned, that if the tree were a bit more left or right, it could work well in the horizontal presentation. The bright leaves right behind the ear is a little distraction and I would consider toning that down a tad to make it less eye-catching.
