Jim, I really like the contrasting foreground both colour and flat contour with background blues and ragged peaks. The catch light on the ears is nice too.

Stunning setting, love the composition and how those distant animals on the plain give a sense of distance and scale. The impressive white tusks really grab the viewers attention. Just excellent technically and esthetically!

Impressive shot Sandipan. The warm golds of the foreground and the hazy blues of the background mountains contrast beautifully.
I like the little fringe of sunlight on the elephant's ear and the wya the light also catches the tusk. The tiny animals in the distance really add a sense of scale and depth. :toast:

Thank you all for the comments. Bill, it was taken during sunset. The Sun goes down behind the hills there, rendering a nice contrasting light on the foreground and on the hills.

This is a beauty Sandipan! Great light and setting.
I do see a halo around the front of the elephant's head in both versions...perhaps the result of selective adjustments or slight oversharpening?

Thanks Morkel. It appears to be a sharpening artifact.

The rich colors make this wonderfully dramatic.

I find the light on the ear a bit distracting, but nice image.

Thank you all.

Bill,
That was the kind of light. For me, it adds a bit of punch.

Cheers.
