Passion flower

Recently my husband was visiting an elderly acquaintance who grows these flowers. She kindly sent this flower and leaves along home for me. I immediately laid it on top of some black velvet on my back deck for a photo session. Such a beautiful flower!

Canon EOS 60D. 90mm macro lens. F/25 for 0.6 sec. ISO 125. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

Lovely color and detail of a very complex flower. It feels as if it could be brightened up just a bit.

Carolyn - Very striking. The odd short petal around 7'O Clock position adds interest and tension.

These are indeed striking flowers and you've done a great job with this portrait. The sharpness really lets the details stand out and getting the leaves sharp adds a lot to the overall shape and interest.

Superb, Carolyn ! Love the colour, the crispness of the detail, the composition, the presentation - and the flower's not bad either !
