Wildflowers around Crested Butte last weekend were nothing short of spectacular. In this particular instance, the sunset decided to compete with the luscious flowers for attention. What an attention whore.

Fantastic. I like everything about the image. Just curious: did you take any with the upper 2/3 being sunset and lower 1/3 wild flowers?

Love the colour here. Not crazy about the fence at the top. Nice exposure control and vibrant colour. :smile:

Todd, I love the sea of purple lupines against the beautiful sunset. The colors seem quite realistic and the composition is very pleasing to me. Are the flowers early this year? I always seem to read that mid - late July is peak for the Crested Butte area.

Crested Butte is a great place and have not been there in 30 years. Gothic was a favorite spot of mine.

Beautiful Todd - great color combination and wonderful drama in the sky. Since this does have obvious Hand of Man in it I'm forced to move it to M&N though.

Gorgeous colors Todd, looks like an amazing morning. Nothing really to complain about here. The only thing I was going back and forth on was whether to crop out that bit of empty sky from the left, but I like having that hill back there compositionally.
