Pink Azaleas

A local public garden has had a wonderful display of azaleas this year - so difficult to compose, so I've let them speak for themselves as they came into bud and flower.

Canon 7D, Tamron 55-200mm lens @ 135mm, 1/100 sec @ f9, ISO 500, hh, some glow in Perfect Effects 4.

Very nice colors and detail Ian, pretty flower for sure. Your presentation works for me.

You have another one where you have imparted this lovely luscious softness to your work, Ian. Such sweet light and color. Love it. :toast:

Ian: We have azaleas all around our house but I find them tough to compose effectively. This relatively wide view works really well for me. Nicely done.>=))>

I like the natural feeling of the image. Have you tried to resize the photo for excluding the front with soft flowers and a part of the leaves? What do you think about? Anyway, a good photo Ian.

The colors here are wonderful with all of the subtle colors in the buds and blooms. You set up a very nice flow of color across the screen with the blooms and they are complemented well by the leaves. I've got pink azaleas and they're very intense and monochromatic. I'd gladly exchange them for these.

Ian, good job! The only way to display a grouping like this is exactly as you have done. There is definitely composition here, but not in the isolation of a group, but rather in the "X" you have created in the blossom and greenery diagonals. :toast:

Ian - Lovely diagonal movement in the frame for the blooms. Not sure I have seen this attractive colored Azaleas before. Most were Pinks and Whites and combination there of. I like that soft feel to the photo which probably comes from processing.

Hi Ian :wavey: Where there could have been chaos, you achieved a fine orderly and symmetrical composition. the light and colors are a delight to the eye :toast:

I really like your composition here Ian. To me it looks like the blooms are flowing into the frame. Well done.

Beautiful, Ian. I like the way the blossoms stream across the frame. Well done.

I like the frame filling contrasting colors and the balance between the blossoms and leaves, Ian. Beautiful subject that was well captured.
