Hibiscus

A relatively large Hibiscus.

ND300s, AFD200mm F/4 Micronikkor @ F/16, 1/6 Sec, ISO400, Mirror Lock-Up, Tripod and Plamp holding the flower.

The yellow patch on the petal going to the left and touching the top edge is not a defect - this variety has such patches on every petal.

Thanks a lot for your comments on Shasta Daisy and let me know what you think of this one.

Another excellent comp with a swirling illusion, Ram. You have a real knack for seeing and photographing these. I also like the detail in the stigma.

Fabulous image. Also admire your plan of focus management and lighting. Most excellent. :toast:

Another superb comp, control of light, and color. I like the shallow dof to provide a background for the in-focus stamen.

Ram: Frame filling fantastic. We had a similar variety a few years ago but it did not survive a winter and I've been unable to find a replacement. Beautiful subject superbly composed and captured. >=))>

What a fine spiral of colors radiating out from that amazing center. The overall sharpness is great.

Superbly composed as ever, Ram, with perfect dof and a beautifully sharp centre. The colour seems just a touch vibrant on my monitor - but maybe this captures how the flower is ?

Very nice, Ram. The flower center is a compelling draw and the surrounding petals provide a soft bg for it.

Plane of focus is just right to drift from the point of focus into the exotic color combination and pattern of lines.
