Supper for an Egret

This snow egret was playing in the edge of the surf in Emerald Isle, NC. I was just before sunset, so the light was excellent - we don't normally see them on a populated beach. He found a snack & played with it for about a minute before swallowing it. Don't know if he was showing me what he could do, or just having fun.

The sky was bright blue & is reflected significantly in the water.

Canon 5DIII, 70-200 2.8 II w/2x extender. Shot at 400mm. 1/1000 sec, f5.6, ISO 400.

Sweet lighting and great to get the fish in the beak, contrast looks a touch high to me. :toast:

Pretty good image! Nice colors, bg.
I wish there was a little bit more space to the right.

Nice capture, good light, nice snack. I also like the setting and water BG. I also think it looks like it has a bit to much contrast.

Wick,

What a fabulous capture of the moment :toast:
On my monitor I feel it needs a little lightening, and perhaps some NR on the upper background,

Although the image seems a bit dark and contrasty, I still like this very much as posted. Sharon

Too bad the cameras don't capture the magical light better (yet), I am sure the lighting was even nicer for this photo. Excellent exposure Wick. :toast:
