Babies on Board

I have never seen this behaviour before although I have seen Jacana chicks on a few occasions, but none this small.
The male does everything in raising these youngsters apart from laying the eggs!
In this image the two chicks are hiding under dad's wings with just their legs dangling.
Taken on the shoreline of Rhino Island, Matusadona National Park, Zimbabwe.

Weird with all those legs sticking out. Beautiful shot. Nicely composed. Good detail in the bird and the colors really shine.

Are you sure there are just two in there, Ken? I could swear I'm counting at least six small legs. Nice job on the exposure of the whites and a great catch. That raised leg in the rear is just wild-I'm not sure how he's staying balanced.

What a strange way to carry young. Very cool image ken....it took me a few seconds of looking at it to figure out what in the world was going on.
