I was photographing a number of Tricolors in Bayou Sauvage last month, and this bird decided to fly in within about 20 feet of me on the boardwalk. I had little other choice but to frame a head shot at this range. Full frame, larger image included.

Exquisite light with a wonderful BG. Gorgeous feather detail and good catch light in the eye. Well done, always seems they are either just a tad bit to far or to close when using a prime lens.

Great light, detail on that eye, and a very nice bg with that splash of color from the lower roc complimenting the BBWD really make this portrait work. Nice work! Sharon

Amazing capture here, Bill. Gorgeous colors and detail throughout. The tiny catch light in the eye is a real plus IMO. Excellent image....

Excellent details, Bill. Great capture of this colorful species in very nice light. :toast:

It appears some of the pinks on the beak are saturated. Not sure if its my monitor.
