Nice capture! Maybe consider cropping to a vertical since the right side is pretty empty?

Thanks Grant. I already tried the crop and it can be viewed on RMNP forum. I wanted to include the power lines and more of the headlights streaming off in the distance. I felt that this would put more emphasis on the size of the lightning bolt.

Oops, I missed that cropped version. It looks like you got some other lightning shots from that same spot. You could consider overlapping the layers and adding in any bolts you got on the right side of the frame. But that may be more manipulation than you'd want to do.

I like all of Grant's suggestions. I also really, really like the clarity and color around the bolt. The rain sheet just adds to the effect.

I personally like your crop decision. As you stated, it lends some perspective to the size, and the car headlights/taillights add yet another interesting aspect to the scene. Incredible lightning bolt! Great capture, one I'd be proud to call my own.

I want to thank everyone for their comments and suggestions. Grant, I have a few more images from this location but nothing that would overlay very well and my editing techniques aren't very good.

Cool--this may be the same bolt i caught the other day, it looks similar and i also shot it from I-25, except i was closer to Colorado Springs.
