The Plunge

Few weeks ago I was trying to execute an idea to photograph waterfall from this location. What you see is Brandywine Falls photographed from the very edge of 70 meters drop. To get to this location and execute this photo I needed to use climbing gear. This is 14mm DOF blend and single DR photo with D800. Any critiques and comments appreciated.

This is one of the coolest waterfall shots I've seen in a while. Great SS and composition. Can't say I have too much to critique here. Looks like a fun place to photograph. Excellent first post and welcome to NPN! :toast:

This is a crazy POV. What a dramatic & wild capture here, Artur. Normally I would be totally against any dangerous adventure just for a photo, but as it sounds like you executed this using climbing gear and the assumption of being anchored in, then more power to you.

Great idea. I love all the texture in the water splashing over the cliff. The large image pronounces that even more. Nice work!

Love the unique perspective, even if it makes me dizzy. Glad you weren't crazy enough to try this without climbing gear!

This is just the kind of work that might get you noticed. Craziest perspective on a waterfall I have ever seen. Oh and welcome to NPN.

Sick perspective, like the crashing waves at the bottom.

Crazy vantage point. The texture of the water is perfect for me. Feels like the bottom and right a little cut off. Maybe a stitch in order considering you already had a very WA lens. Maybe too challenging given your set up with ropes. The greens in the foliage look a bit over- saturated to me, but that is more of a preference in processing. Great energy in this.

Wow! Any more 'out there' and you will need to get a heli-drone to go with that D800 and 14 mm... I can hardly wait to see the first drone photo on this site... really a clever way to snap photos stunning forest and falls... w/o climbing efforts.

Really creative, wicked looking perspective. I love the 'over the edge' close-ups with waterfalls and streams, but this downward view really takes it to another dizzying level. Congrats on pulling it off! :toast:

Thank you for all comments and feedback from great great community of NPN. I have some more photos from that location but i like this one the most. This is very popular tourist spot but limited access ( due to cliffs) doesn't not make it easy to photograph. Getting to the bottom is not very difficult ( IMO) but involves hiking of the trail, a little bushwhacking and a lot slippery rocks. Mist from the falls created micro climate with mosses 12" thick and trees covered with it. Great area to explore and few more ideas to execute.

Excellent for all the reasons mention above! It would be cool to have more of the right side where the water is just beginning to bend and break. :toast:

Artur,

As I mentioned in your 2nd post, this is one phenomenal waterfall image. I just can't imagine the positioning to get this. I hope you were tied on!

The volume, curve and flow of the water rolling off the top is just amazing. To me, it looks like taffy when it's being folded. Very cool!

thanks for sharing this one.
