I love the silhouetted rocks in the water and the subtle colors reflected there. The sky is pretty nice, too but I think you could have a strong image without it. Just rock and water. Very nice

Beautiful image of the lake, Allen. The colors are very appealing and foreground well chosen. Great job!! Chet

Very nice soft pastels in this Allen. I like the foreground rocks anchoring the image and the nice reflection. Well done.

Allen,
I too like the silhouetted rocks and the soft reflections in the water. A terrific sky that I almost wish there was more of, but the narrow format works well here and emphasized the water/reflection over the sky.
I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned previously, but I would consider leveling the water/horizon. Yes, understand receeding shorelines aren't "level" per se, but the optical perception is that this needs to be rotated clockwise a couple degrees. The other suggestion I have while you're doing that, is to crop slightly from the left to remove much of the bulk of the LLC; probably so far as to a bit past the two small rocks near left edge. Although it doesn't take up a lot of space, that dark area kinda weighs the image and also pulls the eye towards that corner and away from the lovely water.

Thanks, Lon, for your input. I tend to be a bit challenged when it comes to level. I've reposted the photo with your recommendations and suggestions. I didn't want to take too much off the shoreline, as I liked the way it pointed towards the rocks. Again, thanks for your help.

Allen,
That nails it for me! thanks for taking the time to rework and repost the image. I certainly see what you're saying about how the bit of shore points or leads towards the rocks; it's a nice shape too. I think the compromise is just right, less weight and pulling of the eye is pretty much gone, yet you still retain the shape and the pointing. Nice job!
