Great colorful capture here, John. Kind of reminds me of a bottle brush type plant. Makes a fine vertical subject for WC this week too.

I agree the choice of a subject that is long, best suites the challenge and this is a good one IMO. Beautiful color.

After seeing some of the great entries for this challenge, I realize I really like the look of vertical panos. They work so well to highlight tall subjects such as this flower. These flowers have a lot to show, from the unopened buds all the way to the top of the fully opened flower and the vertical pano allows us to see it all. Love the color and the wispy leaves along the bottom. Looks like you even captured a little visitor on one of those spiny leaves! The brown spot on the top left edge is a bit distracting.

These Liatris are great vertical subjects and this is a fine view on a fresh one. Well seen.

And stand out it does! I always enjoy flower shots that include buds (and bugs!) along with the blooms. Nice capture overall, but that short light brown thing on the upper left side is a bit distracting; wonder if a slightly different angle could have eliminated it. I myself find it hard to see everything in the viewfinder until I get it home .

That is one bright passionate pink flower, John! You're right that the vertical nature of the flower just begs for a vertical panorama format.
