WC594 Light & Shadow

Over the last year or so I have been working on a series of photos from Antelope Canyon. I went to B&W to emphasize the light, shadows and textures of the canyon as opposed to focusing on the vivid colors one usually sees in photos from this location. If anyone is interested the rest of the series you can see them here. http://www.frickephotography.com/gallery/lst_antelope_canyon/

I'd appreciate any critiques you may have

Scott, I am not sure going to B&W works well for this image, for me anyway. I like the lines and the details of the rock, but to me it is somewhat flat, low contrast. I like the colors these rocks have. Still nice image thanks for sharing.

I like the black and white treatment here. It really shows off the detail in the shadows. I gotta get over to this place.... :toast:

Beautiful shot, Scott! The B&W treatment really does help highlight all the wonderful texture and variations of tone in these from these amazing canyons. However, I do love seeing these scenes in color too. The vertical pano works great to show the long slot of this canyon and you found a fine comp too.

I like the b&w rendition (although it looks more black and cream to me...makes it even more yummy). For me, it's getting very dark in the urc and at the bottom. My thought is to leave the black wedge near the center alone but dodge the other very dark area slightly.

The B&W is refreshing here and the canyon walls make a great candidate. I can see most of the grain in both the light and shadow, so can't say anything about the exposure. The vertical lines make a nice juxtaposition with the horizontal grain. Would be a beautiful fine art print, I'm thinking.
