The Pinnacles

Just getting back on the horse after a time away from landscape photography due to money earning necessities.
I don't often go the f/g rock anchor but I have here as you can see.
The Pinnacles are limestone formations found north of Perth in Western Australia.
Being a bit out of practice, I struggled to choose compositions from the infinite possibilities presented to me.(not a problem I usually have  ).
This one in late afternoon light under a cloudless sky, was one of my better choices on the day.
Feedback of either persuasion always welcome.

Fine comp and pov. A little less sky might be a consideration. :toast:
Interesting rock formations.

I think I like the clean deep blue sky as it makes an excellent backdrop to the graphic stone formations. I am on the fence about the FG rock.

Looks like a very cool place, but tough formations to create strong compositions - a really dramatic sky would help a ton! You might want to consider a B&W conversion for this one. On another visit you might want to consider trying some long lens compressions to create some interesting abstracts or time it with some cloud activity.

Interesting formations - it looks like there are a lot of possibilities. The blue skies contrast nicely with the warm color of the formations. That being said, I would recommend a bit of a crop off of the top.

Nice shot Neale. This is fascinating landscape, and I like your interpretation. Colour combo is very nice too, but there is a bit of irregularity in the blue sky, most likely from the polariser. I also agree a little off the top might tighten things up a bit. Must be good to back on the horse

Quite an amazing looking place here, Neale. Looking around there maybe many other compositions in this area, but this one works just absolutely fine in my book. With the seemingly endless view of vertical pinnacles around why not use the FG horizontal as a good contrasting anchor. As such this is excellent IMO. The detail and color is very nice too.
The only thing a bit distracting here is the shadow cast from I assume another vertical formation to the left coming into the scene up to the bottom left of the horizontal formation. I might get a bit creative and try some options to eliminate the shadow just for another look. It may or may not work. Regardless an excellent capture.
