On the last morning of my trip, I looked outside the tent and saw clear skies. I thought oh great thats it for shooting in glacier. However, I persevered and decided to get up and make our way up to logan pass. It was still predominantly clear, but there were clouds coming in from the west, and the east the few clouds were starting to break. I wanted to get some wildflower shots before we left and I found a fairly nice cluster just off the boardwalk. I set up the shot and waited for the light to turn. It seemed like it took forever for the light to break, but when it did, I was relieved that I would leave with at least a few images with good light. Anyways, this is 3 shots for DOF as it was breezy, and wildflowers wind and low light don't mix very well. As always, comments and critiques appreciated.

Nice composition and good job combining the two images. The flowers in the FG seem a tad over saturated on my monitor. Also I might considering toning down the sky a bit and/or adding more contrast to it. Still, a nice image as is.

These focus blended images seem to be all the rage these days. What a great way to turn a small color splash into a larger part of a near-far photo.

I like this one a lot. The motioned blurred flowers don’t bug me a bit and I enjoy the colors.

I agree with Steve about the sky. You seem to be a skilled photographer. Was the hot sky by design?

Thanks for the suggestions. Here is a quick repost pulling the saturation down from the flowers, and also darkening the sky particularly on the right side.

Thanks Nick and Aaron.

Aaron- The noise is much more apparent in the web version and suffers a bit from compression here. The print version has hardly any noise in it.

I think the repost is much improved here, Peter. Nicely composed and beautifully rendered. I hope you get another chance to get back to Glacier with more favorable conditions.

Thanks Brian. I am already making plans of heading back next summer and actually go with photographers. Lots of spots I feel like I didn't do justice for.

Wonderful near-far composition Peter. Lovely color too. I prefer the original actually.
