Stand out in a Crowd

This is similar to one I posted a week or two ago, except it's a small snag instead of a flower sticking up, it's a vertical instead of a horizontal, it doesn't have an Orton effect, and it's a different marsh - other than that, they're identical!. There was a pretty hefty wind out so there is some blur in the grass here and there.

This represents only a small portion of the actual image, I severely cropped it. I plan on going back and re-shooting the scene to make this the intended image soon though.

Please view the LARGER version for better detail.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this and, thanks for looking.

The pure rich color and peaceful comp make for a pleasing image. The bit of blur at the base of the stump is a bit of a distraction so I think this is well worth another try in calmer conditions.

I really like the "identical" look here, Bill.....

This is another very nice capture. I like this very much. I can imagine the challenge on this scene with the tall grasses and any wind at all. However, I'm not bothered with the movements here and there. Obviously it would be nice to have everything still, but that's nature for you. We takem as we findem. If you got really creative you might CA some of those spots to see if they worked out at all. Regardless, I'd take it just fine as is IMO.

Hi Bill, This is quite enjoyable to look at with the wonderful color and the the kind of free and easy feel it has, at least to me.. The moving grass kind of adds to that mood and especially in the upper part of the image. I think the only somewhat distracting motion is right in front of the snag as David mentioned and the rest works pretty good. It will be interesting to see what you come up with when you get back and shoot this scene again.

I like this Bill, definitely has an appeal, the wind blur doesn't bother me that much, but I would definitely give this another shot, be well worth it. By the way, beautiful color and comp.

I really like seeing the water in the marsh peeking through the grasses. The larger version really is nice to look at. For me, the motion blur distracts a little, but not a big deal. Really nice color! Looking forward to seeing the next go at it.
