Red dragonfly on green

This dragonfly was photographed a couple of days ago near Edmonton, Alberta. I think it may be a male White-faced Meadowhawk (Sympetrum obtrusum). Any help with positive ID is much appreciated.

Canon 7D, Sigma 150 mm macro 2.8 + 1.4 TC, f/7.1, ISO 800, 1/500 sec, -1 EV, monopod, natural light, LR5, PS-CC and NIK suite. Cropped to 71 %.

I should have used a smaller aperture. The BG is a nearby tree.

All comments are much appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Thank you for your comments on my previous photos and for the WP for "Bending over backwards" (Avian Gallery). Note that I was away from NPN for about 6 weeks. Roger.

Nice one, Roger. Lots of detail on the body, legs, etc. A good perch and a nice BG. Wish the wings could have been sharper but with this angle just won't happen. A keeper image.

Maybe a pity about the aperture, Roger , but this is still a lovely shot. Beautiful colour, excellent bg, and some fine detail.

Excellent, Roger. I like the comp and super detail on the head, torso, and legs. I also like the nice clean contrasting bg.

Excellent detail of a beautiful DF. The background seems fine to me - contrasts well with the subject & no distractions in it.

Great detail, sharpness and color. The dragonfly also stands out from the background nicely.
