This photo was taken at the Canadian Raptor Conservatory, 07/13. The photo was cropped to a vertical and edited in Adobe Photoshop and Bridge.

John,
Another excellent capture from the Raptor Conservatory, I will however have to disagree with your choice of the vertical crop. To much dead space on top and needs more room on the left if you have it. What are the conditions and time of day that allows you to get these shots at the Conservatory? Was a flash used on this shot?

Hi
It would be nice to loose some of the head room and open up the shot a little. Love the bird.

Thank you all for the comments, I have an uncommon work week and have less time to respond or review in the week.

Regarding Mike's comment:

These shots were taken in the evening when the sun was setting.

Was a flash used on this shot?

No flashes were used. I did however darken the background for type of composition I was making. Interesting..all of you did not like the space on top and liked to open up the shot. I seem to like unusual composition.. however I can see your reasoning.

Brilliant having these forums, the responses and feedback from you all are wonderful, thank you.

Excellent image - seems like great detail, but hard to tell with only a small image. Longing to see a large one!
Sweet pose and BG.
I agree that a horizontal crop might work better, since the wings are flared. No need for all that space above, expecially the black area.
