Here is one more from my fireweed/honeybee stalking. This is also handheld with the 7D and 100mm macro IS. Pretty significant crop, like the other one, but I think I handled the noise better this time.

ISO 160, f/6.3, 1/160s

Feedback and suggestions always appreciated.

Really a fine pair of flower/bee images, Marylynne. I think I like this one even better than the last because of flower pistal and the very good position of the bee. Excellent job again of isolating the flower and the bee and managing the dof to get both sharp against the nice soft bg. :toast:

Very well done. Love the sharpness and the curl of the pistil and the color palette.

Very nice Marylynne, Perfect details and wonderful perch.
Maybe some more room all around would help, but it is very nice as it is.

Marylynne, very well done, both of the bee and the fireweed. No nits whatsoever.

Excellent detail and a lovely image all round, Marylynne. Beautifully lit - and certainly no noise issue that I can see.

I refined the unfortunate cloning out of a stray bud in the bottom center, which had resulted also in a stray pistil where it shouldn't have been. In the process, I also gave it a wee bit more room all around, as suggested by Vigo and Musso.
