Surprised elk

Taken at Rocky MT. NP, on film many years ago in the spring. The bulls were growing antlers and shedding hair, the cows had not dropped their calves and were shedding hair. I had stopped on a road when this bull came out of a thicket and nearly stuck his head in the car! Got a couple of quick shots before he stepped back into the brush and vanished. I think we were both surprised.

Canon Rebel ektachrome 200 film (?)
no other data available.

You were the consummate wildlife photographer John, able to remain composed and make the photo under pressure. I would like to see a little more of the neck for this portrait, or even a vertical. Fun to see a film shot from yesteryear.

Film? I am sure you were happy with this...but with today's digital you would be able to do more with it! Thanks for sharing!
