Polar Opposite
by Brian Donovan
**Update**
Below in this thread I've posted an alternate version of the image that encompasses some of suggestions made earlier. Seemed 50/50 on the symmetric versus non-symmetric crop, so I posted the non-symmetric for comparison.

This is my first post to NPN. I’m looking forward to interacting with everyone on here and seeing all of your great photos.
This shot is from the amazing glacier lagoon, Jökulsárlón, in Iceland. As if the colorful sky wasn’t enough of a great thing, being summer in Iceland, it lasted for hours as the sun slowly set, and then returned the color light show shortly thereafter for sunrise. I wish all sunsets lasted this long! I found these two icebergs on the far side of the lagoon, one pure glacier blue, and the other soiled with recent volcanic ash.
5D Mark II

ISO 100
Single exposure, dodged the left iceberg a bit, and cloned out a few errant ice cubes.
Thanks for any comments and critique that you may have.

Nice first post! I like the composition and color. This might make a good pano crop as Mark suggested, but I do like the frame the way it is. You might consider darkening the reflection just a bit since the values in the 'real' objects are very close to those of the reflected ones.
Nicely done!

Hope to see you more from you.
Personally, I like the comp as you have it. I think the centered comp works well due to the symmetry in the composition. Beautiful light and color. Interestingly, the iceberg on the right reminds me of Turret Arch from Arches National Park.
I personally like the repost
Nice textures in the ice. Plus I like the contrast between the magentas and blues. What is also interesting is when you flip this image in either direction 90 degrees, some spooky abstract creatures emerge
